Activision Interns will receive an unparalleled experience, replicating what it’s like to work full-time at Activision or one of our Independent Game Development studios. We provide our interns with the tools and resources they need to learn while having a real impact on our teams. We have internship opportunities for undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. level students in teams across the organization including Analytics, Animation, Art, Design, Engineering, Production, UX and much more!
Learning & Development: Outside of your day to day project, interns are provided with opportunities to develop professionally and learn both about our company and the fast-moving interactive entertainment industry. Opportunities include Executive Speaker Series, Tech Talks, Panels, and Resume Reviews.
Community & Social: Interns participate in networking events with their team members, cohort peers, studio employees, and company leadership. Past events have included baseball games, studio visits, community service, hiking, movie nights, dinners, and an E3 mixer. Activities vary based on office location.
Feedback & Performance Review:* Providing feedback is critical for personal development and our company’s success. Working with their managers, our interns set robust, measurable goals that provide a solid roadmap for their progress. We encourage our managers to give real-time feedback throughout the program, and we supplement that with defined mid-term and final performance reviews to mark progress at essential milestones in their experience.
Duration & Timing: The Activision internship program is 12 weeks and timing is determined based on your academic schedule. We will have start dates defined for the 2019 class*:
Class 1 – Begins May 28, 2019, and ends August 16, 2019
Class 2 – Begins June 24, 2019, and ends September 13, 2019
*What if I need to start/end early or late?
We expect our interns to be ALL IN for an epic summer experience. Our class dates are selected based on national academic schedules and our ability to provide our interns with the onboarding support they need to be successful, because of this and our firm commitment to ensuring all our interns have a great experience we are unfortunately unable to accommodate late starts or early exits.
Compensation & Housing: Activision interns receive a competitive compensation package. Housing assistance and travel are available to interns relocating for the summer. Other perks include branded company giveaways, discounted copies of our games, and invitations to company-sponsored events!
Does Activision have a program for MBA students?
Yes! Via our parent company, Activision Blizzard, which hosts an MBA Summer Associate and MBA Rotational Associate Program. Both of these highly selective programs provide an immersive and accelerated learning opportunity filled with challenging projects, unique programmatic events, and diverse networking opportunities. Our Summer Associates participate in a ten-week program starting May 28th or June 27th, 2019. The Rotational Associates participate in a two-year program comprised of three, eight-month rotations across our many successful operating companies including Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, King Digital Gaming, and Activision Consumer Products. To learn more about this program including recruiting process and timelines, please download our MBA Program Brief.
Do you have to be a "gamer" to work at Activision?
No! To deliver epic entertainment experiences, we must bring the most visionary creative talent and the most capable business talent together. We believe that independence and the freedom to approach things differently are the keys to making groundbreaking entertainment. What makes Activision different than other gaming and entertainment companies is our belief that you’ve gotta have fun to make fun. When you love what you do, we believe more people will love what we make.
How does Activision give back to the community?
In 2009 we founded the Call of Duty Endowment (CODE), a non-profit organization dedicated to finding, funding, and growing the most efficient and effective job placement services for US military veterans. To date, CODE has funded the placement of over 47,000 veterans into high-quality careers at less than 1/5 the cost of federal government efforts.
